Tokyo’s rail lines, preserved and reconfigured, become visual systems that reveal complexity and weave Japan’s old and new.

Tokyo’s train routes are faithfully preserved yet reconfigured. The aesthetic elements overlaid upon them transform these functional pathways into new visual elements that will bring out the system’s complexity.
The guiding composition is not my personal creation, but a collaboration with geography, time and the movement of millions, the forces that shaped this system. Each piece is a recognition and a reinterpretation.
It weaves together the harmony of “old” and “new” that defines Japan's character.
